A student is filtering a mixture of sand and salt water into a beaker. What will be found in the beaker after?

Salt and water. because when you filter, you are filtering a solid-liquid mixture. and the filter paper pores are too small too allow sand particles to pass through. hence they would remain as residue, but for the salt water, yes, salt is a solid, but it is dissolved, and is not a solution, hence its physical properties changed and is now able to be left as a filtrate.
