Betta fish in cycling tank?
Well as in my other question, I switched my betta from my 10 gallon to my 5 gallon because he was fighting with my other fish (he was w/ 3 cory). That is going to be his permanent home now, and it doesn’t have a filter. So should I still add a filter? Can he live in the tank while it is cycling SAFELY? Is there any way I can speed up the cycling process to about a few days?

Would it help if I swished the new filter in the old tank water?
Petsmart now sells a mini internal filter for 1-5 gallon aquariums. I had rather use a filter than an air pump.

Perform the necessary water changes and monitor water quality, and it would be acceptable. You could use some filter media from your established tank to speed up the process.
~Water holds little beneficial bacteria. The substrate and filter media is where it’s at. You’d have better luck adding some gravel, or using the filter media.
